The fantastic epic of the Lord of The Rings, written by J.R.R. Tolkien and directed as a motion picture trilogy by New Zealander Peter Jackson, fascinates and attracts visitors from all over the world. The film was made here because the forbidding and majestic landscapes that resemble Middle Earth could only be found in New Zealand.
As New Zealand has snow-capped mountains, rolling landscapes, powerful rivers, rain forests and imposing volcanic sites, it was no wonder that Peter Jackson and his team choose New Zealand over any other country as a setting for the spectacular movies.
